Let's play "Where are the Horsemans?"
This place claims the origin of the chicken finger. This is, of course, disputed by a couple of other places that claim the same.

Walking tour this morning to get the juices flowing. Savannah has so many park squares! Chuck was very knowledgeable.
Cool sign...
This is where the bench was in Forest Gump.
This place was super delish! Like eating at grandma's house. You sit at a table with whoever you were with in line outside. Everything is served family style. You want more? No problem. They'll bring more out until you can't fit out the door. There were like 20 bowls of food, all different, on the table. Usually there's a big line to get in this place but we got in real quick.
Cemeteries are always good sources of history.
The lobby of the hotel down here has some really neat items...
Beautiful church.
I think Julie automatically gets this girl scout patch.
Fort Screven was pretty short. Lots of printed info and some decent items. Included with the tour of the Tybee Lighthouse and just across the street.
Julie says "It's not beach weather but it's not -3 degrees so...". Had to get up close and friendly with the Atlantic while we were on Tybee Island.
Your zen for the day...
178 steps. The stairs we're a little "see through". Good little hike to the top.
Ft Pulaski is definitely a two parter. Pretty big. Way larger than old Ft Jackson down the road and more modern. Lots of good information at this one. Oh yeah, and my national park pass expired so they gave me a new one...a FOREVER one. The new ones for veterans don't expire. Yay!
Ft Pulaski part 2.
For lunch today Julie mentioned BBQ. The last couple places I saw BBQ here had me a little worried with their mustard based sauces. I tasted it and it was very mustardy (yes it's a word...I just said it so it's a word). So I was understandably apprehensive. But Wiley's was great. As with any joint they have some great and some meh. The meat was all pretty good. Ribs were probably my favorite. The mac and cheese was great...very creamy. But the shining star was their Dutch Crust Sweet Potato Casserole. OMG it was so delicious! Highly recommended if you're in the vicinity and craving some BBQ. Oh and interesting artwork in the restrooms lol.
Old Fort Jackson was interesting for me. I attended basic training and AIT at Ft Jackson in South Carolina. This one is in Georgia. Neat demos and interesting stories about how they lived made this one a winner. Great place.
Our "get the juices flowing" vacay hike this morning was at the Wormsloe Historic Site. Pictures and video don't do the drive into this place justice...but I tried. Some interesting info from a short movie and a small museum. But the beauty of this place is the selling point.
Yep, we're back in the cemeteries. The age and wear on some of the headstones already makes it kinda creepy and beautiful but the Spanish moss seals the deal for me. Love looking around this place. And very big!
Lunch at Geneva's. If your at all into fried chicken give it a shot. Julie's favorite chicken spot now. The mashed potatoes and gravy had a real good smokey flavor. Would definitely go again.
Merry Christmas from Bull Street Tacos! Thought our drink combo was very Christmassy. The tacos and street corn didn't make it to photo phase but they were delicious.
The prohibition museum was a little expensive at $26 but you get a drink at the end. A fun thing towards the end was a one way mirror in the easy speak where you can watch people who are trying to do the Charleston using dance steps painted in the floor. A fun trap. This is part 1 of 2.
Part 2 of the prohibition museum.
